Important Shipping & Wing Position Information
To ensure safer international shipping, some butterfly specimens may be shipped with wings partially closed or relaxed differently from the display photos. This helps reduce the risk of wing damage during long-distance transport.
The specimen can easily be repositioned and spread again after softening.
Wing Softening Instructions
For closed-wing or dried specimens:
- Place the butterfly inside a sealed container or airtight box.
- Put a small cup or tissue containing alcohol inside the container to create vapor humidity.
- Do NOT allow alcohol to touch the butterfly directly.
- Leave sealed for approximately 12–24 hours.
- Once softened, gently reposition and spread the wings carefully.
Handle delicately using soft tweezers or gloves whenever possible.
Preservation & Care
- Keep in a dry environment.
- Avoid direct sunlight and high humidity.
- Store inside a display frame or collection box for long-term preservation.
- Silica gel is recommended for added moisture protection.
- Handle minimally to preserve wing scales and coloration.
Each specimen is carefully inspected and securely packed to help ensure safe worldwide delivery for collectors and enthusiasts.
