Important Shipping & Wing Position Information

To help reduce the risk of damage during international shipping, specimens may arrive with wings folded naturally in resting position. Closed-wing positioning is often preferred for safer transport and long-term preservation.

Wing Softening Instructions

If repositioning or spreading is desired:

  1. Place the specimen inside a sealed container or airtight box.
  2. Add a small cup or tissue containing alcohol inside the container to create vapor humidity.
  3. Do NOT allow alcohol to touch the specimen directly.
  4. Leave sealed for approximately 12–24 hours.
  5. Once softened, gently reposition the wings carefully using soft tweezers or suitable tools.

Preservation & Care

  • Keep in a dry environment.
  • Avoid direct sunlight and excessive humidity.
  • Store inside a display frame or collection box.
  • Silica gel is recommended for moisture protection.
  • Handle gently to preserve wing scales and natural coloration.

Each specimen is carefully inspected and securely packed to help ensure safe worldwide delivery.
